Hearts cold as winter
Living in this stormy world
I love with God’s heart
Growing Together
How do you think loving with your own
heart is different from loving with God’s heart?
2019 has been a rough year for many
of us. A lot of people have been rude and disrespectful to me. I have had to
learn to assert myself without reflecting the rudeness and disrespect that was
given to me.
I had to go somewhere yesterday to obtain
a necessary service. The woman waiting on me was very rude and disrespectful. I
wanted to tell her about herself. After all, God corrects those whom He loves (Proverbs
3:11-13).
Well, I smiled and thought twice.
The Scriptures tell us righteous people consider what we want to say before we
speak (Proverbs 15:28). The Word also says love overlooks faults and forgives
(1 Peter 4:8).
I decided to stand up for myself as
nicely as possible. I did not “tell the woman about herself.” I stated what I
wanted. I stated why. I spoke plainly and simply. Then I smiled and waited.
The word of the LORD is sure: “A
gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.” (Proverbs
15:1 New International Version)
I decided to trust God’s word.
I decided to believe God’s word.
I decided to love with God’s heart.
Will you join me this year? Will you
choose to love with God’s heart?
